Quick Stop @ The Fortunate Fox
Hey there, thanks for stopping by!
SPOTTED IN THE 6ix: The Fortunate Fox. A gorgeous modern style pub located in Kimpton Saint George Hotel right on Bloor Street West.
How did I end up here? Well, I was supposed to have a shoot day in hamilton and things went south so I ended up hitting my girl, Debby up, because we’ve been meaning to shoot and it seemed like perfect timing. The new location for the shoot was very close to this restaurant. Before visiting, I had heard nothing but good things about this place, so it only made sense to make a quick stop there while I waited for Debby.
The first thing I noticed upon arrival, was their beautiful entryway which had two intricately designed vintage chairs and mirror, as well as a plant in the corner, all assembled in a manner that was sure to take your breath away.
After drooling over the entryway, I made my way into the restaurant and automatically spotted a yellow sofa in the back and I knew that’s where I wanted to be seated, because it was so picturesque.
After being greeted by a waitress, we make our way to the yellow sofa and then we were handed our menus, which I was also so in love with because it had some quotes in there that stood out to me but they also somewhat resembled a Basquiat painting. I love when restaurants go the extra mile for the little things!
As I looked through the menu with the eyes of an indecisive person, I was overwhelmed with options but seeing as I was making a quick stop, I was only there to grab a drink. So, I ended up having to ask the waitress what’s good on the menu and she was so patient with me, telling me her favourites and also what is popular amongst customers.
I ended up having a sangria and I was very impressed with their portions, not to mention it cost only $10 and it tasted like heaven!
After drinking that big ol’ glass of sangria, I obviously had to make my way to the washroom, which I was kind of excited about because I knew a restaurant as beautiful as The Fortunate Fox, would have a washroom to match. As I made my way to the washroom, I noticed a wall of gold vintage looking mirrors which I thought was so gorgeous!
I finally got to the washroom and it was super clean and bright, but I just wished it had a little more personality in it. You feel me?
Overall, the service was amazing, the ambience was perfect and my sangria was bomb!! I will obviously be going back there to try other things on the menu but so far, I’m impressed!
