Catch Me @ Café Cancan
OH MY DAYS, PHOTOJOURNALS, SPOTTED IN THE 6ix

Catch Me @ Café Cancan

I recently won a free ticket to a fashion networking event in a giveaway I entered on the Instagram page of The Kscope — a platform dedicated to connecting and showcasing the African creative & business community within the GTA. The networking event, ‘A Seat at the Table’, was hosted by Zhuri Mag, which is an African luxury magazine. Read more on this event on The Kscope.

So anywayyy, during this event I connected with several different individuals, and was able to build a relationship with one of them. We got to talking and I came to learn that she was starting an online brand and was also looking for models as well as a social media manager. It turns out she was feeling my energy, my style (with my fro and everything y’knoww?), and she wanted me for both opportunities. We eventually decided to set up a business meeting to talk things through, so I chose Café Cancan as the meet up spot because I’ve always wanted to check it out, especially their back patio, and it just felt like the perfect location for a lil’ sit down (plus, I knew I’d kill two birds with one stone, seeing as I’d get cute pics for a blog post ).

I have a vlog coming out soon from this day so I don’t wanna talk too much about it, but I will say it’s a beautiful café, and I really enjoyed the drink I got, even though I don’t remember the name. I just asked for the closest thing to a sangria lol, so maybe you can do the same when you visit (or not lol, it’s totally up to you).

For the meeting, I decided to go with a more casual effortless look. I opted for a pair of black high waisted jeans from Topshop and this floral vintage shirt, my bf got for me from a Nigerian brand called Okhale. I did a little DIY with this shirt and made it my own buy tying it in the front and also folding the collar in. I LOOVE HOW IT TURNED OUT!

Sooo.. are we ready for the pictures or what?

Yeah, thought so, girl!

You already know who shot this; none other than my maaan..

Ok, let’s get it!

I obviously really enjoyed this drink, so I had to take several pictures with it lol
the front patio also made for a cute spot to shoot

After Cafe Cancan, I headed to chubby’s Jamaican because lately I just can’t get enough of their curry oxtail and I somehow always find myself there. My bf calls me oxtail mami now lol. I’m obsessed #sendhelp.

me when I smell chubby's jamaican curry oxtail lol

I hope you guys liked this blogpost, because I really enjoyed writing it. Stay tuned for the vlog, it’s coming soon. But, in the meantime, watch my latest vlog: VLOG #6: Eglinton Exhibition + #EverySummerConcert
