The Journey of Success
It’s been a minute since I’ve done a Wednesday wisdom post. I’ve just been feeling really uninspired. I literally had no clue what to write about. Then, a couple of days ago, I had a very interesting conversation with someone very close to my heart. In that moment, it just seemed like I had all the right things to say. I’m guessing God was using me as a vessel to help that person. You never know how God is going to use you to help other people. You just have to be ready for him to use you.
It really hurts me when I see someone I love drowning in self-doubt, especially when you know what they are capable of.
I am writing this today to tell you that SUCCESS IS A JOURNEY. A journey of setbacks and accomplishments, a journey of ups and downs. It is a journey. It’s not meant to be easy.
Imagine driving from Toronto to New York. There will be traffic, it might rain, no one said it was going to be a smooth ride. So, just think of those things as setbacks. Imagine finally getting to your destination, imagine how fulfilled you will feel, think of that as an accomplishment. It’s really important to focus on the destination and not the traffic or rain. Playing some music while you’re driving will keep you going, right? Same way praying to God and surrounding yourself with supportive people will keep you going on this journey.
There will be times when you’re really working hard and putting in your very best but you feel like you’re not getting the recognition you deserve. One thing I’ve learnt from that, is God’s timing is the best. He has a plan for you. He knows best. You have to endure those trials so when you finally get to the point of full-blown success, you will be able to look back and appreciate all your hard work and effort.
On this journey, there will be people who will have so much shit to say. ‘The naysayers’. PAY NO ATTENTION TO THEM! There will also be people who will be inspired by everything you do and support your every move! Those are the people you should focus on. Appreciate the people who support you and completely ignore the people who don’t. But don’t ever forget, you are doing this for you. You’re not doing it to please anyone but yourself and God! That is the only mindset you should have!
God has given each and every one of us talents, it’s just up to us to make use of them. Some of you may be thinking to yourself, “I don’t know what my talent is”, and that’s okay. Just pray and pray and pray and God will help you figure it out. You just have to go to Him, talk to Him, ask him and he will help you. The bible says ask and you shall receive, doesn’t it?
The secret is just BELIEVING he will help you! Your faith will take you far! Pray and keep pushing. Keep pushing. Keep pushing! Don’t give up!!!!!
Repeat after me:
- God has a plan for me!
- I am going to be successful!
- Every setback is a setup for a comeback!
Spread love always,
